Jeff and Callie do the Farm Thang...

Callie and I took a trip to Mapleton's Organic Farm on Saturday. I drive by this place all the time for work and have always wanted to bring Callie here. It is a little farm setup with a barn with all the baby animals so you get to pet them and see them up close. They do a great job of letting you see a *real* farm. We are talking poop on the boots kinda real farm...

This was a common sight on the trip - Callie had a great time and was laughing and smiling up until we had to leave.

I don't think they have any weeds left. I showed Callie how to pull the weeds up and feed them to the bunnies. They had a half dozen of them in cages arond the place. They also had chickens and roosters walking around. You have to be careful in the driveway so you don't run them over.

What is a farm without a tire swing...

Round and round and round she went. Lots of giggles.

The barn was great fun. They had a bunch of goats that Callie really liked. They were pretty gentle. Callie got nipped a few times, but she survived. She was a little shocked and looked to me to see if she did something wrong. It was especially funny when they tugged on her sleeves.

The baby cows were sooo cute. These guys would come out of their huts to say hi when you walked by. They loved the attention and made sure they moved close enough to the side to let Callie pet them. I never realized that they were that domestic.

I think the reason Callie got nipped is cause she kept doing this....

I like this shot. They both seem like they are looking at me.

The only thing we were afraid of was the Alpacas. They had big teeth and were a little more agressive. Their fur is definitely soft and lush though.

The piglet was crazy!!! He ran back and forth like a crazed lunatic. He was a little more than a foot long. Pretty cute and mom looked tasty... mmmmm bacon.

After we got bored of the animal we went and checked out the maze. Callie wasn't too much into finding her way through the maze so we cheated. In the middle is a playground that looks like a boat. It was cute cause she kept pointing and saying she wanted to go to the 'park'.

Her pants kept falling down... Daddy didn't know there was an adjustable elastic inside. Duh!

I will definitely go back there. We both had lots of fun. And they have great ice cream :)

Random pictures from the sitters

Jen was kind enough to forward me some pictures of Callie at daycare. :D Some with her friends, some from the Humane Society and others that are just too cute not to post.

Ice Cream & Play Time

Callie loves nothing more than her ice cream, ok maybe her toys too but i think Ice Cream is #1 on her list.

Callie's new winter hat!

So with my new knitting skills i decided to make Callie a winter hat! She finally let me put it on her head so i could take a picture. :D

Sleeping Child

Nothing is worse than having to wake up a child who is tired! I decided to take a picture of her as she was just too darn cute!

Dance, Dance, Dance

Callie has been loving Sean Kingston's - Fire Burning song. We actually listen to it every single day, multiple times on repeat. Needless to say, mommy and daddy are sick of the song!

Fun in the backyard!

With the beautiful weather on the weekend we took Callie outside to play in the backyard. She even helped daddy clean up some of the weeds and helped mommy put away the seat cushions from the patio set.

My Garden sort of....

I don't have much of a garden but i do have two butternut squash's growing in my somewhat of a Garden. We have a compost in our backyard and lately the raccoons have been moving a lot of the seeds around and voila butternut squash! I am waiting to harvest them so i can make some yummy fall soup.

Cirque Du Soleil

Jeff and i took Paul and Julie to see Cirque Du Soleil this past weekend. We both had a great time, as the show was unbelieveable!

Callie dancing to her favorite song!

Callie and her friends

We had friends over for dinner the other night and they were watching the Incredibles while eating dinner!

Blowing weeds!

Anybody who has Dandelions knows they are a pain in the butt. Callie thinks it's great because you can blow the seeds away only to create more weeds.

Knitting Lessons

I started teaching myself how to knit becuase i think home made hats, scarfs, sweaters, etc are just beautiful. I taught myself the basic casting on/off, knit/purl but didn't really know much after that. So i've been taking Knitting lessons from a good friend who is a big knitter in the k.w. area. The year Callie was born, Jeff's Aunt Fran made the most beautiful matching sweater and hats set. These are family keep sakes and i'll never part with them. I added a picture of Callie with the sweater and hat set from Aunt Fran. Callie also has this one in a brown set. Look how cute she looks!

Here is the sweater i started making for Callie. This is the back end and i'm currently working on the front end. This is a sweater for when she's 4 so i've got some time! I'm also in the process of making her a winter hat and gloves.

Family Time and the Arts

With the nice weather we've been having in September (I've also been told it hasn't rained in September) we've been doing a lot of outdoor activities with Callie. Such as drawing on the front way of the house with Chalk. The little portraits are actually Callie size. She went on the ground and i had to trace her with the chalk, then we added some faces to them!
