What a Great Day
We were in Toronto for the weekend and I decided to go on an adventure with Callie. We left Susan's house and I pointed to the CN Tower and told Callie "that is where we are going." I don't think she grasped the enormity of it at the time, but the whole way there every time the tower came into sight she said "there it is daddy!" We took her first streetcar ride... This is the face of a truly happy and excited little girl.
I snapped this pic just for kicks.
We grabbed lunch at the base of the tower and got our tickets for the "spaceship" ride as we called it. She got a bigger thrill out of the elevator ride than the actual observation area. We walked to the area where they have the glass floor - what a wierd sensation to step out on that glass. It was a little unnerving at first, but then got easier as time went on, but Callie held on pretty tight to my hand.
After leaving the tower we stopped in the gift shop to play with Lego for 20 minutes. Mindless fun, but all part of the adventure - the idea was to do whatever we wanted. I wanted to get some ice cream so off we went, I didn't have any cash so we headed away from the street vendors near Rogers Centre to a more retail area. Our walk was interrupted when Callie came across a rain puddle. I remember finding a lot of joy in splashing in a puddle as a kid, so who am I to deny Callie that joy just in the interest of keeping shoes dry... More mindless fun.
We stopped at what is called the Franklin Children's Garden where they have these bronze rabbits. Callie had to sit on every one of them before we left. I don't know how many there are, but there are lots...
I could hear an outdoor concert from where we were. Since I am out of the loop I had no idea there was a Toronto International Film Festival block party going on. We walked up the street to listen to some music and see what was going on. When we got there I realized there was lots going on. We found a section where they were doing activities for the kids - there was face painting, balloons and a jumpy castle. We waited in line for the face painting first - it was a long wait and Callie got a bear face. She was pretty good, but got fidgety when they painted her nose. By this time Callie was starting to show she was tired... A tired little bear.
After the face painting Callie still wanted to get a balloon. After almost an hour and a little diversion to the jumpy castle where Callie got too scared to jump Callie finally had her balloon. While standing in line I saw this perfect mermaid design that I knew Callie would love...
By this time, I was hungry and we both were tired. Time to head back home. We started the walk to Queen Street and jumped on the streetcar for the quick ride home. All in all we covered several kilometers on foot, missed a valuable nap and I never got my ice cream... But there wasn't a single tear shed... By either of us.
We both had fun... Lots of fun...

You will be Missed
Mom and Dad are moving from Norval to Guelph. Leaving behind a few friends who wanted to throw them a little party. We all got together at a little pub called the Copper Kettle Pub. They closed the place down for us - the food was good and so were the drinks. Fun was had by all. I can tell they will be missed, but we will be glad to have them closer to us. I snapped a few photos of the event.

A Lazy Sunday Afternoon
On Sunday Callie wanted to play outside, so we sat outside and just enjoyed the fresh air. I took the opportunity to snap a few photos, I liked a few and applied a few Photoshop actions to add to them a bit.
It was an overcast day, but still beautiful out.
I also snapped a pic of a tulip from our garden. The color was more vibrant than I usually get. I think it was the overcast weather...
