Auntie Marilyn got Callie this really awesome pillow and blanket set. This blanket goes everywhere with her and she absolutely loves it because it's pink. She's in a big pink phase. Thanks Auntie Marilyn!


She even figured puppy needed to be wrapped in the blanket for his morning nap.

Family Weekend

My mom came down on the weekend to spend some time with us. She hadn't seen Callie since August and my mom couldn't believe how much she had changed.

To bake or to eat it.

Well Callie is good at one thing and that is eating my cake batter. She loves to help but is always looking for the left overs. :D

Mark and Tracey did a big family dinner a couple of weeks back. The food was great, the drinks were good but the company was better!

My recent trip to Miami

I had to go to Miami for work and it was absolutely gorgeous there. I had time to hit the beach during the trip which kind of sucked but that is the price of being the Events Coordinator!

Ok so i was able to go look at the beach for about 20 mins. on Monday upon my arrival.

This is the famous Versace house! The house he was shot at. Our hotel was two buildings over from this house.

Callie the sick little girl...

Callie was sick two weeks ago. She had a fever that reached at one point 103 but was up and down for at least two days. Then it went away and then it came back again. Her nose was like a faucet and it eventually went into her chest. I took her to the doctors just before i left for Miami and the doctor gave her antibiotics to help with the chest. It worked as her fever was gone by Sunday just in time before i left. She's all better now which is a good thing.

My new camera

I bought myself a new camera and decided to play around with it tonight. There is still a lot i need to learn and it takes way better pictures than my last camera.

We were playing around with stickie notes and i put a bear on hers and a cake on mine. Rather than putting them around the house we decided to put them on our foreheads.

Callie and i painted our nails one night. Mind you when you paint Callie's nails they only last about a day on her fingers.

The weather this weekend was great!!! It is likely gonna be the last nice weekend without snow so we took the opportunity to go for a walk in the park. Bechtel Park is a nice forested park with a couple of looping trails. There weren't any leaves left on the trees, but the forest floor was covered in an orange crunchy blanket. Callie was her usual happy self and was ready for play - we all had a good time.

Since daylight savings moved the clocks it provides a real reminder that the days are getting shorter. The sun was low even though it was only late afternoon.

The leaves were nice and dry - perfect to throw in the air.

Callie was all smiles - she is soo attached to that puppy.

We found this big old tree laying on its side. It seemed like a good spot for some family pictures. Getting a toddler to pose is challenging...

For some reason Callie hugged this tree like she was listening to it. This was shortly before Brandy panicked after seeing a large spider on the tree. Maybe it was the spider talking to Callie?

Even after the walk Callie still had energy for the playground. This was amazing since she had a long day with Tracey, Mark and her cousins the day before. I guess fun trumps tired...

I am betting the next outdoor playday for us is going to involve pictures of playing in snow - or even maybe on skates ( thanks grandma ).
